EVENTS ON ARCATA PLAZA:  Saturday Farmers Market, Arcata to Ferndale Kinetic Sculpture Race, Arcata Bay Oyster Festival, Pastels on the Plaza, 4th of July Fair, Northcountry Equinox Fair.

Northcoast Growers Association holds their Farmers Market on Arcata Plaza Saturday mid-April  through November. This is the longest continuously operated organic Farmers Market in California. The 3-day Arcata to Ferndale Kinetic Sculpture Race is held over Memorial Weekend. The wacky contraptions commence their race from Arcata Plaza to Ferndale on Saturday at the noon whistle. The Arcata Bay Oyster Festival is held in June on the Saturday before Fathers Day. Thousands of people flock to the Plaza for Arcata’s popular events.
